These days there are so many diet plans out there to choose from it can be quite overwhelming. They all claim to have healthy benefits and they all claim to be the one true diet and lifestyle plan, but which one is the best? The raw food diet has a great many advantages and seems on the surface to be very healthy. So what is the raw food diet?
The raw food diet, as the title suggest consists of eating nothing but raw foods. This is s very natural and healthy diet to be on. Anything that must be cooked is off the menu. As you can imagine this eliminates all unhealthy, processed junk foods from your diet. This includes so called healthy foods such as; wholegrain bread, pasta and other cooked or baked foods. Everything that is eaten must be natural and raw.
This diet is based on the belief that cooking foods takes the vital nutrients and enzymes from them. These enzymes and other micro nutrients are believed to be of vital importance to health. We all know that eating fruits and vegetables in our diet can increase our health and well being, but the raw foods diet believes that we should eat like this at every meal and snack.
The advantages of the raw food diet are very many. They can revitalise energy levels, improve the appearance of skin, purify and detox the body and generally improve the health level greatly. The detox diet is also known for its weight loss benefits too. The idea is that when the toxins ans waste products are removed from the body that the fat and extra weight that you carry around with you will follow it.
The foods that are recommended are foods that are quick to digest. The faster and easier a food is digested the better it is for you according to this diet. This will mean that fruits and vegetables are recommended whilst artificial foods are banned. The raw foods diet is a lifestyle rather than just a quick fix diet. The energy and sense of well being that you will experience on the diet is one that you will surely want to continue to have.
